The USDOE evaluates GEAR UP CT (GU CT) on 16 objectives throughout the life of the grant. To monitor and evaluate results, the Annual Data Progress was created to share with all stakeholders. This yearly report is outlined by objective showing year by year progress of services and/or activities impacting our students.

While year 1 had minimal activity due to the pandemic, local programs made a strong come back in year’s 2 and 3. We have seen progress throughout each year and the trajectory is heading upwards.

The following grant objectives have been met thus far in Year 3:

1. Tutoring
2. After-school/Summer Enrichment
3. Rigorous Course Work
4. SEL
5. PSAT/SAT Prep Programs

In Year 4, the focus of GU’s efforts will be around college & career readiness along with parent engagement/workshops. The partnership and support from each team and partner is recognized in how they have been able to implement services within targeted school districts. It is through these partnerships that GEAR UP has been successful at the mid-point of the grant.
